John grew up in the Midwest where he met his wife and they raised two daughters. John’s graduate and post graduate schooling led to his career as an educator and administrator in the Chicago Public Schools, ultimately resulting in holding the title of Principal at a school on Chicago's West side for most of his career. John also managed a network of schools to improve the educational and social welfare of the community. After a long career, he retired north of Chicago and kept busy in civic affairs, serving on the school board and the Economic Development Council. While in northern Illinois, he created the Winthrop Harbor Tourism Corporation, a 501(c)3 and was the Executive Director of Harbor Days, a yearly summer festival drawing over 20,000 visitors. But John was not done working. He became a professional photographer and for years, helped to run a successful art gallery in Racine Wisconsin. The call of grandchildren and sunny skies drew John to Southern California and the start of a new career in real estate working with his daughter Melissa. They plan to combine skills to offer clients a family approach to buying or selling a home.
Melissa spent most of her life in the Midwest as well. After attending University of Dayton, she received her Bachelors in Criminal Justice. However, this was not the career path for her. Following her desire to help people, Melissa became an adult ICU RN. After her husband's career moved them from Chicago, to Cincinnati, and then to California, she continued for years in the job she loved. Then life changed again and her lovely twin boys put a pause to that career. During this time of motherhood, Melissa honed her passion for helping people, but in a different way. A few years ago Melissa decided to take that passion and turn it into a career as a Professional Home Staging Consultant. As she worked with clients getting their home ready for sale, she found she wanted to be more hands-on in the process of helping people sell their homes. And that is how she too became involved in the Real Estate World.
